At a full-time state school in Luziânia, in Brazil's Goiás state, students preparing for Enem, the national exam that opens the door to university, are getting extra help through tutors and group study sessions organised by subject.
Maths and physics teacher Luiz Henrique Domingos do Nascimento says the sessions start relaxed, with a snack, before moving into the material. He reads questions aloud with students to work on interpretation, which he calls a challenge across the country, then gives them time to solve and discuss other ways to reach the answer.
Final-year students also get guidance on careers and their future. Silas Cardoso, 17, says the in-school sessions have helped him a lot as he balances them with studying at home and daily chores.
